Carolina Balian is an Economist graduated from the University of the Republic of Uruguay. She has a postgraduate degree in Economics and Law of Climate Change from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO). Currently, she works as an Advisor in Natural Resource Economics and Climate Change in the Office of Agricultural Planning and Policy of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP) of Uruguay, focused on the development and validation of the Bioeconomy Strategy. She also participated in the elaboration of the National Adaptation Plan for Agriculture, as well as in international climate change negotiations related to agriculture under the UNFCCC. Carolina Balian joined as an esteemed panelist during the Roundtable on People, Planet, Policies.
