Dr. Ravindra Utgikar holds a doctorate in management in addition to Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, both from Pune University. His research thesis is focused on renewable energy and strategies for entry & growth in international markets. He has completed a course on Global Account Management - ‘GAMPRO 2007’ at the Account Management Center at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. He has actively participated in several senior management executive Learning and development programs, organized by renowned institutions such as CCL-USA, ISB-India etc.
Dr. Ravindra Utgikar is Vice President and heads Corporate Strategy initiatives at Praj Industries Ltd.- India’s leading Climate Action organization in the Bioeconomy space. Praj provides end-to-end technology solutions i.e. from R&D to D&D (design and Deployment), to customers in the process industry globally.
Dr. Utgikar has 33 years of global experience in formulating and implementing business transformation strategies for products as well as projects industry. He has travelled in over 40 countries across 5 continents in developing and deploying market entry and growth strategies. As a specialist in sales, marketing, business development, general management, and strategy, Dr. Utgikar has an established track record of ensuring sustained profitable growth for leading Indian corporations and MNCs. His areas of special interest include building mutually rewarding strategic alliances, Customer Experience Management, and New Product Development & introduction among others. As a sustainability enthusiast, Dr. Utgikar actively engages with environmental conservation and protection initiatives and programs for the greater good of society. He is regularly invited to deliver keynote addresses at coveted industry forums globally. He has also worked in Singapore, UAE, and the USA on deputation.
Passionate about education, Dr. Utgikar has long-standing associations with several academic institutions in India and abroad. As an advisor to the Board of Governance, he is actively involved in transforming COEP TECH University into a world-class institution. Dr. Utgikar is the Director on the Board of Bhau Institute – an early-stage technology startup incubator supported by the Dept. of Science and Technology Govt. of India. He holds honorary committee member positions in leading industry and academic institutions such as the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Marathi Vidyan Parishad, Pune Management Association, MIT University Pune, among others. In the past, he has had close associations with renowned institutions e.g. Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, MCCIA, etc
As a prolific writer, Dr. Utgikar has published several writes thought leadership columns on energy, environment, Technology, and education in leading newspapers. Dr. Utgikar has authored several scholarly papers in the technology and Management field that are published in domestic and international journals bearing ISSN / ISBN accreditation. In recognition of his contributions to Industry, education, and society, Dr. Ravindra Utgikar is the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from his alma mater - MIT College of Engineering (2013), IndSearch Institute of Management (2010) and also Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya (2024). In leisure, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading management books, and gardening.
