Mojgan Nejad is an Associate Professor with a joint appointment in the Department of Forestry and Chemical Engineering and Materials Science Department at Michigan State University. She has a bachelor’s degree in applied chemistry and a PhD in Wood Coating. Dr. Nejad also holds a professor (status only) position at the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Toronto. Her current research projects are focused on developing lignin-based coatings, adhesives, foams, and composites, and most of them are conducted in close collaborations with industry partners. Dr. Nejad has won the Adhesive and Sealant Council Innovation Award (2018) for replacing 100% phenol with lignin in a phenolic resin formulation.
